The Benefits of Castor Oil Packs

Updated: Sep 1, 2021

Raw organic castor oil, when used for castor oil packs, has a drawing action on the body, helping to rid the body of it’s toxins and acidic build-up.

Castor oil packs speed up your healing process; you can place the castor oil pack on any area of the body to increase circulation, range of motion, aid in detoxification, to alleviate tension and to reduce pain, inflammation, stagnation and internal scar tissue formation within the joints, tissues and organs. The most common place that castor oil packs are used is over the liver, gallbladder and/or the intestines.

The abdomen or your core is the most important muscle group in the body. This muscle group determines whether you will digest, assimilate and eliminate effectively or putrefy and absorb your own waste. If you’re flabby on the outside, expect worse on the inside. A toned abdomen will give you a well-toned, healthy body.

Toxic, weak muscles and organs in the abdominal area can lead to the following:

  • Cramps

  • Intestinal Gas

  • Low-Back Problems

  • Endometriosis

  • Kidney Problems

  • Swelling (Edema)

  • Prostate Problems

  • Painful Periods

  • Stomach Ulcers

  • Scar Tissue & Cysts

  • Hemorrhoids

  • Varicose Veins

  • Pregnancy Disorders

  • Impotence

  • Digestive Disorders

  • Constipation

  • Colon Disorders

  • Abdominal Distension

  • Abnormal Growths

  • Cancers

  • …and more

Reasons you want to use a castor oil pack:

  • Improves digestion, assimilation, elimination

  • Improves hormonal balance

  • Detoxifies and tones your vital organs, tissues and joints

  • Relieves your body of pain, inflammation, stiffness and arthritis

  • Assists in the elimination of cysts, tumors or abnormal growths

  • Helps heal ulcers

  • Stimulates the liver, lymphatic system and the body’s natural immune system

  • Helps in recovery from surgery

  • Prevents scar tissue formation internally and externally

SO WHAT DO YOU NEED TO MAKE A CASTOR OIL PACK?

You will need wool or cotton flannel cloth, plastic wrap, an electric heating pad and a towel.

Flannel or wool cloth must be used if the best results are to be achieved. The cloth should be three or four layers thick when folded. The abdominal pack should measure roughly 10 inches in width and 12 inches in length.

How To Prepare Your Castor Oil Pack

  1. Place a plastic cover or big garbage bag and a towel on the couch or bed in preparation of castor oil pack.

  2. Place the flannel in a casserole dish and pour castor oil on the flannel to soak completely. Place dish in oven on a low temperature to warm it up. While it is in the oven, turn your heating pad on.

  3. During the warming process, you can do what we call the Rubber Ball Roll. First you’ll need to lay down and roll a tennis ball around your abdomen from right to left in a clockwise circular motion; focusing on the areas that are tender or congested.

When you have completed the rubber ball roll, you can take your castor oil pack out of the oven. Be sure you don’t overheat the oil as the oil can burn you when ringing out the excess oil from the flannel. The flannel should not be dripping when applied to skin.

HOW TO APPLY YOUR CASTOR OIL PACK

Note: You can place the castor oil pack on any area of the body to increase circulation, range of motion, aid in detoxification, to alleviate tension and to reduce pain, inflammation, stagnation and internal scar tissue formation within the joints, tissues and organs. The most common place that castor oil packs are used is over the liver, gallbladder and/or the intestines.

  1. Place the flannel on the treatment area.

  2. Then place the plastic wrap over the flannel to protect the heating pad

  3. Now place the heating pad on top of the plastic wrap

  4. Wrap it in a towel and relax for 1-2 hours.

*Make sure that the heating pad is set at a comfortable heat. Castor oil pack can be done once or twice a day depending on the condition.

After treatment is complete, wash treated area off with mild baking soda wash or do a Coco Salt Glow on the area.

After use, the cloth can be wrapped in plastic and placed in the refrigerator for re-use; this prevents the oil from evaporating. When reusing castor oil pack, add more castor oil when needed and warm before use. Do not share your castor oil pack. When you believe that your castor oil pack is toxic, throw it away and START FRESH.

Castor oil packs are amazing but patience will be needed. It takes time for results to appear when it comes to treating and reducing internal scar tissue, adhesions and abnormal growths. When we learn to honor, protect, respect and detox our body with gentle baby steps each and every day, we will then experience amazing health.
